A focused alternative for one workflow

A Zapier alternative for the work after meetings.

General automation moves information between apps. A follow-through workspace gives that information an owner, a draft and an approval decision.

Keep Zapier when you need broad automation

Zapier connects apps through triggers and actions. It is a better fit when you need a custom chain across many business systems. Approval steps can also be part of a designed automation; human review is not unique to Surf Tasks.

A meeting workflow might combine a notetaker, task manager, AI step and document destination. You are responsible for the workflow’s mapping, permissions and error handling.

Try Surf Tasks when follow-through is the product you need

Surf Tasks puts meeting tasks, subtasks, task chat, agents and work products in one workspace. Instead of designing a general-purpose automation, you work with the task and review the draft in context.

  • Review imported action items before creating meeting tasks.
  • Assign people and available agents to the follow-up work.
  • Answer missing-information requests in task chat.
  • Keep a person responsible for approval and completion.

Understand the trade-off

Surf Tasks is not a replacement for every Zapier app or workflow. It is a free/BYOK beta with a narrower focus. Use Zapier for unsupported app-to-app processes; try Surf Tasks when meeting follow-up and drafts are where your team gets stuck.

Connected services and AI usage can have separate fees. Confirm your providers’ API access and permissions before relying on the workflow.

Test with one real follow-up

Choose one non-sensitive meeting. Review the action items, create a task, confirm the owner and ask for a first draft using approved reference material. Measure whether the result is easier to review and complete than your existing process—not just whether a task was created.
